Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez never had a future together if what the singer’s ex-husband Cris Judd shared about her is true.

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for her fourth divorce after her marriage with Ben Affleck ran into trouble. Lopez’s decision comes on the day of her second wedding anniversary with the Batman v Superman actor. The On the Floor singer’s second chance at romance with Affleck was doomed from the beginning after her ex-husband Cris Judd’s comments about their relationship.

The relationship between Lopez and Affleck was rumored to be in trouble for a long time. The couple started living separately a few months ago when Affleck moved out of their shared mansion in Beverly Hills. Notably, the Let’s Get Loud singer reportedly listed their date of separation as April 26.

Jennifer Lopez reportedly ended her marriage with Ben Affleck after exactly two years when she filed for divorce in the LA County Superior Court on Tuesday (via Variety). Lopez and Affleck gave a second chance to their romance after going separate ways in the early 2000s. However, this relationship was doomed from the beginning after Lopez’s ex-husband’s comments.

Cris Judd is a dancer and choreographer, who appeared in several music videos alongside Lopez. They met when he was hired as a background dancer in Love Don’t Cost a Thing. Judd was Lopez’s third serious relationship after Ojani Noa and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. They tied the knot in September 2001 and the marriage was over by June 2002. The divorce was finalized in 2003.

Judd opened up to Us Weekly about their brief failed marriage. He shared that their relationship was challenging right from the start due to all the limelight. While the breach of privacy bothered him, he shared that it was not what affected their relationship.

The choreographer shared that while he couldn’t give an exact reason for the divorce, it all came down to whether both of them wanted to work on their marriage. It appeared from Judd’s comments that Lopez didn’t want to deal with her problems and eventually walked away from their marriage. Judd shared with Us Weekly:

I can’t give you the answer as to why her relationships don’t work. I think that it’s that it is work. It’s whether you want to work on it or not. Everyone has baggage and problems. It’s whether you want to deal with those problems. When you sign up to get married, you can’t just walk away.

While Lopez moved on to a relationship with Affleck at the time, Judd found love again when he met Kelly A. Wolfe. Judd tied the knot in November 2009 and the couple has a daughter Vivienne. He has since remained in the marriage for over a decade.

Jennifer Lopez divorced her first husband Ojani Noa only after eleven months. The relationship with the producer ended in a messy lawsuit and Lopez was awarded $545,000 in 2007. According to CBS News, Noa was issued a permanent injunction that forbade him from “criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging” Lopez.

She was in another short-lived relationship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The now-controversial musician dated her from 1999 to 2001 and remained friendly after that. After her brief marriage to Cris Judd, she entered into a relationship with her Gigli co-star Affleck. She called off her marriage to Affleck and many believed that the relationship was ruined by tabloids.

Lopez met and married singer Marc Anthony and it was the longest relationship she ever had. While the marriage lasted from June 2004 to June 2014, she filed for divorce in 2011 (via Rolling Stone). The couple had twins, Max and Emme, in February 2008.
