Soon, the most unbelievable part of the trailer takes place, and it’s not the “very bad” team being quickly introduced. It’s the big, bold letters that say “based on a true story.”

Amazingly, it is based on the true story of the Special Operations Executive, a group so secretive that the members were referred to as “Churchill’s Secret Army.”

Gus March-Phillips was a member of this group, and he led expeditions into Axis territory. The Henry Cavill movie is based on Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperados of WWII by Damien Lewis.

Henry Cavill and Guy Ritchie last worked together on The Man From U.N.C.L.E., an underrated spy caper that has been reevaluated since it flopped in theaters.

Joining Henry Cavill on the mission is a who’s who of rising stars, including Reacher’s Alan Ritchson, Crazy, Rich Asians Henry Golding, and Ambulance’s Eiza Gonzalez.
