Warren G has reflected on having the chance to change Hip Hop history as it pertains to the downfall of 2Pac and Biggie.
The “Regulate” hitmaker joined Drink Champs for an explosive upcoming episode and a clip teased earlier this week sees him reminiscing and wishing he had the chance to properly defuse the ’90s West Coast-East Coast tensions.
“I pulled up, Biggie was right there we was chopping it up about everything,” Warren G said of a conversation he had with The Notorious B.I.G. “Music — with him and 2Pac, them having beef and shit. He was just like, ‘He tripping on me.’ He was telling me everything.
“So I said, ‘How about this, this what I’ll do. When I get at ‘Pac, I’ll say I talked to this n-gga Biggie, and this what he said. You n-ggas get this shit together and stop that shit.”
Warren G continued: “But I couldn’t get to [2Pac] because it was all the other muthafuckas that was around. To really talk to him about what [Biggie] said. I was tryna get the message to him.”
N.O.R.E. then chimed in wondering if in an alternate universe, Warren G could’ve somehow stopped the feud between Biggie and Pac.
“It probably wouldn’t have been as bad,” Warren agreed. “Well, I would’ve pulled [2Pac] to the side and really talked to him. Like, ‘Look, this what this n-gga told me.’”
While it’s unknown if Warren G could’ve changed the fates of Big and ‘Pac, many doubted his chances in the Drink Champs comment section.
“Once the gangs got involved there was no turning back. Sad truth,” one person wrote while another added: “Pac handled that entire situation wrong. He was on records saying how he felt one way, but in his interviews, he said the opposite.”
2Pac was shot in a drive-by shooting in September 1996 following a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas; he died a week later. Biggie was murdered in Los Angeles roughly six months later in March 1997.
According to The Sun, Duane “Keefe D” Davis is facing “imminent charges,” with Las Vegas homicide leading the charge in the nearly 27-year-old cold case.
KEEFE D CLAIMS IT’S DIDDY’S FAULT HE’S CAUGHT UP IN 2PAC MURDER ‘BULLSH-T’
Backed by the district attorney, the outlet claims that authorities have built a compelling case against the childhood friend of legendary N.W.A. frontman Eazy-E and are slated to present their findings to a secret jury next month.
A bulk of evidence including witness statements about 2Pac’s murder and Keefe’s involvement are expected to be presented to the grand jury.
However, the ex-kingpin will not be permitted to attend the hearing. There, a grand jury will determine whether the burden of evidence presented is sufficient enough to prosecute.
Further, The Sun‘s insiders claim the D.A. “is looking at first-degree murder potentially for Keefe D,” based on Nevada law.
