On March 28, Grönwall shared on their social media accounts that Grönwall would take a break both due to health issues and to focus on himself and his family.

The question is, can she handle it? We think she can, and so do fans.

The Fan Reaction To The Replacement

In March 2021, Grönwall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He fought through it and even went through a stem cell transplant that same year. Because of his health issues, the band had to cancel a few shows before.

While the fans are sad to see the original frontman leave, they are still very happy to have a new voice in the band. A commenter said:

“Sad news for Erik and awesome news for you Lzzy. You’ll kill it and can’t wait to hear. hope Erik gets well soooon.”

Another even wanted to see a live recording of one of the shows:

“Please please please release a DVD of this! I probably can’t get cross country but would 100% buy the DVD (&Vinyl&Blu-ray)… Will actually even if I make it to the show!”

It wasn’t just the fans that were happy for Hale. Corey Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor wrote:

“I love your cover of ‘Slave To The Grind’ – this is amazing! Congratulations!!!”

Lacuna Coil singer Cristina Scabbia also commented:

“Siiiiiiiick!!!”

Hale Has A Skid Row Cover

Of course, the fan reactions aren’t the only thing to prove Hale can handle the Skid Row shows. Back in 2011, Halestorm released a cover of the band’s ‘Slave To The Grind.’

Just like the recent news, fans loved the cover. Many of them pointed out how her voice fits the song, while others said she should cover other Skid Row songs too. This one cover is the proof that Hale can handle her new band and can replace Grönwall.

Meanwhile, we wish the original frontman to get well soon. You can hear Halestorm’s version of the song below.
