Conjoined twins, 23, open up about what it’s REALLY like to share a body – revealing how they handle one sister being in a long-term RELATIONSHIP and even detailing what happens if one of them DIES
A pair of conjoined twins have lifted the lid on their incredibly unique lifestyle, revealing what it’s really like to inhabit the same body – while hitting back at strangers who bombard them with vile questions about their lives.
As conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade, 23, are as close as two sisters can be, and they recently opened up about that bond during a very candid Q&A video shared on their social media accounts.
The twins, who moved to the US from Mexico when they were two and now live in Connecticut, revealed the questions they’re most frequently asked in a video posted to TikTok.
‘We’re gonna do a FAQ, cause some of you can’t shut the f**k up,’ Lupita said in the clip, which has been viewed over 9.8 million times.
The women, who share organs and limbs below the waist, go on to answer the questions their curious followers are desperate to know.

When they were born, doctors told their parents that they would likely only live a few days – but they have defied all odds and are now thriving – but do share some unusual effects as a result of sharing body parts.
‘If one of us is tired, we both don’t have to both be tired because we have two separate brains,’ Carmen begins the FAQ.
‘Yes, one of us can be awake and one of us can be asleep because, again, different brains. We are two separate people,’ she pointed out.
Lupita also dispels any theories they can control each others limbs.
‘No we cannot control each other’s limbs or halves,’ she said.
‘Yes I can drive,’ Carmen cut in. ‘I have the right foot so I drive.’
They added they share a blood stream, so getting drunk effects them both, but that they feel full at different rates because they have two stomachs.
‘We’re still two different people,’ Carmen reminded followers. ‘So we have two separate ID’s and ID numbers and social security numbers and all that stuff.’
Carmen then discusses some of the more confronting and gritty messages they receive – including what will happen if one of them dies.

Carmen said that Daniel and Lupita, who is asexual, are good friends, revealing that the two of them will often stay up late at night chatting after she has gone to bed
‘We share a bloodstream, so eventually sepsis will kick in and obviously within hours or days the other one will die,’ she explained. ‘But we’re not dead, so why always ask us that?’
Another question they’re also frequently asked is legal ramifications if one of the women commits a crime.
‘Never been through that process, so how would we have that kind of knowledge?’ Carmen responded to the somber question.
Carmen also addressed a topic that is often discussed: relationships and sex, as she and Lupita share a reproductive system.
She explained for example, they both have endometriosis and experience pelvic pain.
‘So you do the math of your weird inappropriate questions about sex,’ she quipped.
Carmen has been dating her boyfriend Daniel for three years, and has reminded followers he is only dating Carmen, not Luptia as well.
She previously revealed to Today that she met him on the dating app Hinge in 2020.
‘I never tried to hide the fact that I’m a conjoined twin, which meant I got a lot of messages from guys with fetishes,’ Carmen explained, adding she knew ‘right away’ that Daniel was different from the other men she had talked to.
‘He didn’t lead with a question about my condition,’ she said. ‘I have social anxiety, and I’ve ended up canceling dates at the last minute, but I felt calm on the way there.’

She also added that Daniel and Lupita, who is asexual, are good friends.
‘It’s funny because I stay up later than Lupita, but when Daniel’s sleeps over, I fall asleep quickly — and he stays up talking with her,’ Carmen shared.
The twins also talked about the potential of having a family one day, revealing they aren’t able to have children.
‘We can’t have kids, we don’t want kids and my partner feels the same way,’ Carmen explained.
They also told the outlet that because they ‘share’ so many ‘internal structures,’ separation surgery is way too risky for them – but don’t get sick of each other, despite around each other for every second of the day.
‘Sometimes at the end of the day, we’re just exhausted and we don’t want to talk. That’s when we’ll go on different devices and do our own thing,’ she said.
‘I have my laptop to do schoolwork, and Lupita will put on headphones and listen to music or go on her phone. We’ve been conjoined our whole life, so it’s not like we miss our independence. It’s all we’ve ever known, right?’
