Is Roman Reigns leaving WWE? The truth after his withdrawal from the 2024 Draft

Roman ReignsRoman Reigns’ WWE status is being questioned by some following SmackDown

Roman Reigns is a topic of conversation among WWE fans after a big-time episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The first night of the 2024 Draft took place, and despite initially being promoted as a potential candidate, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion withdrew himself from the big-time Draft just hours before the show started. This was revealed by Paul Heyman, The Tribal Chief’s Wiseman. Naturally, this stirred up a lot of questions.

Some fans wonder if he’s leaving the Sports Entertainment juggernaut and if his withdrawal from the Draft could be a sign of his impending exit. Thankfully, that is not the case. Instead, Roman is simply taking time away from television at the moment.

With a few exceptions, injured stars or those not currently on-screen aren’t part of the 2024 WWE Draft. Roman is currently on a break, including doing an acting gig. Instead of taking up a spot to draft a guy who wouldn’t be around for the coming weeks or even months, the company left him out.

The decision is logical, but it also allows freedom to move him wherever they deem best when Reigns does return. Reigns could also become a free agent, allowing him to appear on both shows.

Regardless, not being picked isn’t an indication that his status with the company is changing; it is simply a logical booking decision.

Roman Reigns’ WWE absence led to a tough night for The Bloodline

With Roman Reigns pulling himself out of the WWE 2024 Draft, the remainder of The Bloodline had a rough go. Specifically, Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman, and Tama Tonga were not drafted until near the end of the show.

This wasn’t done without an explanation, however. It was revealed that company officials see Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline as wild cards now, thanks to The Tribal Heir kicking Jimmy Uso out, adding new members, and Roman being absent.

This is logical, as Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga have been menacing recently. They have injured Jimmy, bloodied up Kevin Owens, and even crashed a car in the parking lot. The Bloodline is a risky WWE Draft selection.

Ultimately, Solo, Paul, and Tama were picked up by Friday Night SmackDown and will remain on the brand. It seems like just a matter of time before Roman Reigns returns, and then the bigger picture will become clearer.
