Specifically, the 65-year-old superstar was sued by two viewers, Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden.

Madonna performed concerts at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the North American leg of her December 2023 Celebration tour , which Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden attended.

Documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York say that Madonna “demonstrated apparent difficulty in securing a timely or complete performance” and that the start time was 8:30 p.m.

They say the concert starts on December 13, 2023, from 10:45pm to 11pm and ends after 1am New York time.

The organizers did not inform ticket buyers that the concert would start much later than the start time printed on the tickets and as advertised, causing ticket buyers to wait for hours.

Despite the delay, Madonna put on a show that surprised fans, performing a set of 45 songs that highlighted her record-breaking 40-year career.

It was later explained that the delay was due to technical issues and was only pushed back an hour when the opening act, DJ Honey Dijon, took the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Mr Fellows and Mr Hadden, represented by solicitors Richard Klass and Marcus Corwin, said that because the event took place on a Wednesday, concert-goers had difficulty getting home.

The documents say “many people who buy tickets to concerts on a weeknight have to wake up early to go to work and/or take care of family responsibilities the next day” and access to transportation public or restricted ride-sharing applications.

Barclays Center and organizer Live Nation are also named in the court filings.

“Defendants failed to provide any notice to ticket purchasers that the concert would begin much later than the start time printed on the tickets and as advertised, resulting in ticket purchasers having to waiting for hours” – the document stated.

The filing also claims “Madonna has traditionally arrived and started concerts late, sometimes several hours later” while citing the Rebel Heart tour that ran from 2015 to 2016 and the Madame Her 2019 to 2020.

They also said other performances at Barclays Center and other stops on the Celebration tour were also delayed.

The men are suing for “unspecified damages, statutory damages, treble damages, exemplary damages, costs and attorney’s fees.”

They also emphasized that they bought expensive tickets, including Michael’s $155.90 admission fee and the $292.50 Jonathan paid to see the concert. They want a trial by jury.

Madonna told a Las Vegas audience in 2019 that “the queen is never late” in a video she shared after a lateness lawsuit.

Her Celebration tour , featuring greatest hits, was postponed last year because she was in intensive care with a “severe bacterial infection”.

The singer later announced that the dates of her North American shows had been changed and began her tour in London in October at The O2.
