‘Of course I have wardrobe regrets, I lived through the 80’s!’ Jon Bon Jovi reveals he no longer follows trends and instead designs classic pieces for his new fashion line Hart N Dagger
Is there anything that Jon Bon Jovi can’t do? Already a singer, songwriter, record producer, philanthropist, and actor, the New Jersey native has now added fashion designer to that long list of accomplishments.
The Bon Jovi frontman launched his menswear line Hart N Dagger in November of last year with the goal of producing ‘everyday pieces that are classic, timeless and comfortable.’
FEMAIL caught up with the ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ hit-maker to get the low down on everything from the inspiration behind the brand, his wardrobe regrets and what he thinks every man should have in their closet.

While designing a line is something Jon never thought he would do, he always had a passion for denim.
‘I’m very particular about jeans as I’ve been wearing them since I was a kid. Jeans to me need to be timeless and classic. They should be comfortable and uncomplicated,’ he says.
‘Hart N Dagger isn’t about reinventing denim, we’re perfecting it.’

Past regrets: ‘Of course I have wardrobe regrets. I lived through the 80’s!’ said Jon (left)
Whether they be bleached, ripped, studded or even patchwork, Jon has rocked practically every denim trend out there in his 40+ years in the spotlight.
‘Of course I have wardrobe regrets. I lived through the 80’s!’ says Jon. ‘If I’ve learned one thing looking back at the many pictures of me or the guys over the years I realized that fads and fashions come and go.’
That’s why it was important to him that the collection be made up of simple, understated pieces that never go out of style. ‘The brand’s motto is timeless and classic.’

Besides jeans, the line includes denim button ups, sweaters, tees and even jewelry. Each piece in the collection is made in the US, something Jon felt strongly about when starting the brand.
‘America has an identity with the blue jean that dates back over 100 years. The idea that we could bring them back home while creating a few jobs was appealing to me,’ says Jon.
While the rocker believes every stylish man should have blue jeans, a white button down shirt, a blazer and a leather jacket hanging in their closet, Jon’s favorite pieces in the line are actually the sweaters. ‘I love that they hang straight and are a little longer than normal.’
