Rapper Drake places massive $1.15 MILLION bet on the Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII:’I can’t bet against the swifties.. Will the Taylor Swift effect withstand the Drake curse?

Drake and Chiefs VS 49 Super Bowl

Drake posted another ridiculous sports bet to his Instagram page, this time taking the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers.

The ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper dropped 1.15 million on Travis Kelce and co. to win their third world series in five seasons, with a payout of $2.346 million should Kansas City win, due to the team’s underdog status.

‘I can’t bet against the swifties,’ Drake said on Instagram as the reasoning for his bet on the Chiefs, with Kelce starting at tight end, as his girlfriend, Taylor Swift expected to be in the Allegiant Stadium crowd.

Drake’s latest huge bet could give San Francisco fans some comfort, knowing the rapper’s infamous sports ‘curse’ when picking teams and athletes.

Last month, the ‘God’s Plan’ performer laid down $700,000 on Sean Strickland to successfully defend his UFC Middleweight Championship against Dricus Du Plessis in the UFC 297 main even. Strickland lost the belt via unanimous decision.

Drake also picked his hometown Maple Leafs to win Game 7 of their 2019 playoff series against the Boston Bruins. Toronto lost.

Earlier in 2019, Drake strongly supported Alabama to win the CFP National Championship over Clemson. The Tigers dominated the Crimson Tide 44-16 in a star-making performance for Trevor Lawrence.

The rapper also backed Conor McGregor in 2018 for his lightweight title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, with the Irishman and Canadian joining forces at the weigh-in before UFC 229.

Nurmagomedov tapped out McGregor in the fourth round before the infamous crowd brawl after the fight.

Swift and Drake have never collaborated on a song, but the Canadian did give her a shout out on his recent track ‘Red Button’.

Drake did successfully pick the Chiefs to beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII last year on a $700,000 bet. In 2022, he also picked correctly on the Super Bowl, selecting the Rams over the Bengals on a $472,000 wager.

Drake’s history with sports betting is checkered to say the least. It is possible the Super Bowl may be the one event that can buck his bad-betting trend.
