In a recent post on X, Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker shared his joy about a moment at the 2024 Emmy Awards, as he performed Phil Collins’ hit song ‘In the Air Tonight,’ a dream he’s had for a long time.

Barker expressed his excitement and admiration for Collins in his message, stating:

“I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life…. I just played the most famous drum fill of all time at The Emmy’s. I love you, Phil Collins.”

A Tribute To Television History

The Emmy Awards started with a lively musical act. The ‘Black-ish actor Anthony Anderson played the piano, joined by a choir and Barker for support. The stage at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles was designed like ‘Mr. Anderson’s Neighborhood,’ which was a tribute to the classic children’s show’ Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.’

After playing a mix of famous TV show songs, from ‘Good Times’ to ‘The Facts of Life,’ the show smoothly switched to Collins’ 1981 song, focusing on Barker playing the drums.

Red Carpet Romance

The Emmy night was also notable for Barker’s appearance with his partner, ‘The Kardashians’ star Kourtney Kardashian, on the red carpet. It was their first public appearance together since the birth of their 3-month-old son, Rocky Thirteen. The couple wore matching black suits and sunglasses, looking like the characters from ‘Men in Black,’ and set a stylish example.

Addressing Rumors

This came after Travis addressed rumors regarding his influence on the Kardashian sisters’ feud. In an October interview with the Los Angeles Times, he responded to speculations linked to his past crush on Kim Kardashian, disclosed in his 2016 memoir. Barker commented on the public’s tendency to overinterpret, saying:

“You give people a little information, and they think they’ve solved the mystery of ‘this is why they’re fighting.’ It’s just so ridiculous.”

In his book, Barker mentioned finding Kim very attractive while he was dating Paris Hilton. He later explained that he shared these details to move on from his past, as it was helpful for him. Travis assured Kourtney that he and Kim used to talk, but there was nothing wrong happening between them.
