Travis Kelce addressed his viral Taylor Swift Fearless heart hands gesture at Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills during his and brother Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights today. The move was a public declaration of love…for the Bills’ fans and not Swift herself, Kelce clarified. Kelce made the gesture after scoring his first of two touchdowns after the game and blew a kiss. Swift was watching the game in the stands, leading fans to believe the tribute was for her.

“Had to spread the love baby,” Kelce said, via The MessengerAlways got to spread that love baby. There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man. A lot of [I] understand… Coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy. Did it get a little disrespectful? 1,000 percent. They got a little extra.”

Kelce didn’t disclose what was said, saying, “I’m not going to relay it, but some things were said about the family. Some pretty inappropriate things were said about [Kansas City Chiefs quarterback] Pat Mahomes. It was pretty wack.”

“I get it. I get it,” he added. “Coming into a hostile environment, I respect it. But I just wanted to make sure they knew it wasn’t mutual. I don’t hate you guys like you hate us. It’s all love baby.” Page Six noted Kelce’s remarks could have partly been because Swift was booed when shown at the game too.

He paid his respect to the Bills fans earlier in the episode too, The Messenger noted. Dude, I have to tip my hat to Bills Mafia,” he said. “It’s such an awesome atmosphere playing up there. It was so much fun. They brought the energy. They got rowdy for every single play, every single third down that we had—and that made it fun.”

Kelce acknowledged his perspective is partly because the Chiefs beat the Bills: “Obviously, I’m saying this differently if we come out with a L instead of a victory, but I can’t thank Bills Mafia for showing up and showing out like they did, and making that environment a memorable one for everybody involved and that was electric.”

Kelce and the Chiefs will next play the Baltimore Ravens at the Ravens’ home stadium on Sunday. Should they win that game, they will advance to the Super Bowl.

Kelce generally doesn’t talk about Swift much on his podcast. Despite many reports coming out about the couple’s relationship status over the last week, he addressed nothing regarding future engagement speculation.

Entertainment Tonight ran the latest update on Swift and Kelce on January 22, saying the couple has been looking ahead. Taylor and Travis are doing really well,” the source said. “They try to spend as much time as they can together. Travis also makes it a point to make sure Taylor feels as comfortable as possible at his home. They have discussed their future as a couple and are excited at the idea of it. Right now, Travis is focused on Valentine’s Day and wants to do something fun and special for Taylor.”
