WATCH: Celtics fans swarm streets and start ‘F the Heat’ chant after destroying Jimmy Butler-less Miami side in playoffs
Going up against the Boston Celtics without Jimmy Butler was a tough task for the Miami Heat.
Boston Celtics fans swarm the streets and taunt the Jimmy Butler less Miami Heat after their team destroyed them in 1st round of the playoffs
The curtain has rolled down on this NBA season for the Miami Heat. In a playoff series without Jimmy Butler and a couple of strong players, the task was anyways going to be tough. Especially, when going up against the league-leading Boston Celtics. Considering their rivalry, Celtics fans swarmed the streets with signs and chants as they destroyed the Heat to move on to the next round.
The Miami Heat are one of the most resilient teams in the NBA, especially when it comes to the playoffs. That resilience was key in getting a win on the road in game 2. However, not having Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier had its effect. The Boston Celtics pummeled the Heat by an average of almost 23 points in the last 3 games. Most notable was the way they finished, hammering last year’s Eastern Conference Champions by 34 points in game 5.
The Miami Heat have been a thorn in the side of the Celtics in the past few years. Having got the better of them before, they were the ones who sounded out the league leaders, challenging them to a fight. Some taunts and trolls were thrown in their direction as well.
Which is why, Boston Celtics fans gave it back to the Heat, chanting ‘F the Heat’ as the game drew to a close. They also swarmed the streets with ‘Beat the Heat’ signs as they celebrated a win against one of the biggest rivals.
Boston Celtics onto the next round for championship run
After making their offseason moves, the Boston Celtics were in everyone’s mind, the favorites to win the NBA championship. No other team had the odds squarely in their favor. After all, having a starting 5 made up of All-Star caliber players, anything less than a championship would be a disaster.
With that in mind, they move to the next round of the playoffs. Either the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Orlando Magic could make it to the next round. The additional days will be beneficial to rest their tired and worn-out bodies. It also gives them time to prepare for the next rounds. Either of those two teams should not be a problem. But the Conference Finals could be tough.
Clear all that and the Boston Celtics will have the chance to become the winningest team in NBA history. Then their fans will probably swarm the country and taunt all who come between them and the title.
