Taylor hasn’t attended the major event for nearly eight years

TAYLOR Swift’s legion of loyal fans are desperate to know if she and boyfriend Travis Kelce will make their  Met Gala debut as a couple next month but they may be disappointed.

The Anti-Hero singer has shown no signs of slowing down as she continues dominating her Eras Tour dates and prepares for the release of her upcoming 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Meanwhile, Travis, 34, appears to be enjoying his time following his Super Bowl win with the Kansas City Chiefs by attending Taylor’s sold-out shows and locking lips with the pop star at Coachella.

But many Swifties are hoping the two will make an appearance at this year’s  Met Gala on May 6, just three days before Taylor, 34, is expected to continue her Eras Tour in Paris.

Travis doesn’t have to report to NFL training camp until July, only adding to the speculation that the couple might hit the red carpet.

“Taylor and Travis at Coachella??? We are so close to seeing them in  Met Gala OMG,” wrote one person on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I have absolutely convinced myself that Taylor and Travis are going to the Met Gala together and I refuse to be wrong about it,” wrote another person.

A third wrote, “Travis and Taylor at the  Met Gala the Met Gala??? I’d die.”

SPENDING TIME

A source close to Travis’ entourage told The U.S. Sun that the couple is on the gala guest list.

But their main priority is enjoying their last few weeks before “the very intense” part of Taylor’s tour, the insider says.

“They are loving to just relax, spend time together, and stay at Taylor’s residencies to just enjoy being together and get a well-deserved rest,” the source said.

“It’s that time of year where both are off and they like not to attract any attention, to not be going to many public events, and just stay in their ‘bubble.’

“They have been invited to tons of public events in the last few weeks but they declined them.

“The  Met Gala is a massive event but the plan is to not go as they want to enjoy the maximum time they have before the start of the Euro tour.”

The source said the couple wants to stay out of the spotlight as the European leg of Taylor’s tour “is going to be an intense time.”

MET GALA HISTORY

Taylor, who has notably been absent from the  Met Gala the Met Gala since 2016, has a well-documented history with the biggest night in fashion.

In her last appearance, she attended with her then-boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston, and made headlines with her shocking look that included a peroxide blonde bob, dark lipstick, and a custom Louis Vuitton dress.

That year, Taylor was one of the co-chairs for the gala and committed to the technology-inspired Manus x Machina theme.

Taylor was also rumored to have met her now ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, at that same event, and the two dated for six years.

She made her debut at the  Met Gala the Met Gala in 2008, sporting her then-signature long, blonde curls while wearing a gold Badgley Mischka gown.

This year’s  Met Gala is called Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fasion with the theme, The Garden of Time.

Many Swifties feel the theme goes perfectly with the singer’s upcoming Tortured Poets Department era.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Travis and Taylor’s reps for comment.
