Barcelona is ready to sell De Jong to Man Utd

According to Football Insider, Man Utd faces a great opportunity to recruit Frenkie de Jong this summer.

Barcelona wants to extend De Jong’s current contract, which runs until the summer of 2026.

Technical director Deco sees De Jong as a key player and wants the midfielder to continue with the Catalan club for a long time.

However, Sport reported that if a new agreement cannot be reached, De Jong’s departure in the summer is possible.

Man Utd has the opportunity to recruit De Jong.

Barcelona does not want to let De Jong reduce his market value and they may be forced to sell the former Ajax star for a huge price in the summer of 2024 to avoid a free transfer when his contract expires.

De Jong has always insisted he is happy at Barcelona and does not want to leave the club.

Meanwhile, Man Utd almost successfully recruited this player. However, for many reasons, this deal did not take place.

Most recently, Football Insider confirmed that Barca is ready to sell De Jong to a Premier League team this summer. Specifically, Man Utd or Chelsea could be potential landing spots.

It is currently unclear the intentions of Man Utd and Chelsea in this deal.
