The Baltimore Ravens were the hottest team in the NFL, right until they were defeated by the Super Bowl champs. Despite not making the big game, QB Lamar Jackson won his second NFL MVP award.

Regardless of his accomplishments, many people still find ways to discredit Jackson for not showing up when it matters most.

Still, he is one of the most talented QBs in the league. Former Ravens tight end Daniel Wilcox believes Jackson is on the same level as Mahomes, and everyone needs to stop hating on Jackson.

“I’m glad that he [Mahomes] doesn’t get the grief and the B.S. that Lamar Jackson gets on his side. Two totally different players, but their game is so much the same. I still think Lamar Jackson is probably the best quarterback in the NFL by all measures: arm strength, arm talent, but not necessarily all the time decision-making.”

Jackson is one of the most versatile players in the league. I would argue he is superior to Mahomes in that he can throw the ball downfield, but he can also rattle off an 80-yard run too. Still, Jackson finds a way to catch far more criticism.

“I think he’s right there neck and neck with Patrick Mahomes with his athletic ability. And I think people need to get off the hate wagon when it comes to Lamar Jackson and start to give him some of the love that Patrick Mahomes gets. You know, Patrick, everything he gets, he deserves.”

Again, Jackson should be mentioned in the same light as Mahomes. They are both dynamic and young QBs who are changing the way that people think about the QB position.

Still, Jackson does not have a Super Bowl to his name, which is why he is criticized far more. Once he can lead his team to the big show, everyone will have to send in their apology letters.
