Stephen Curry turns 36 in three weeks, but he’s nowhere near ready to talk about his retirement.
The Golden State Warriors star spoke on the subject after Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game and seems determined to continue playing for years to come.
“I think about it all the time. But, those thoughts stop because you gotta get ready for the next game,” Curry told reporters.
“There’s a routine and cycle. You embrace the now. Eventually, you’ll get to a point where you wake up and whatever your body is telling you, or if your mind is telling you it’s time. But, I don’t think I’m anywhere close to that.”
Curry had 16 points and eight assists while playing in his 10th All-Star Game.
Throughout the weekend, some of the game’s all-time greats spent their time in Indianapolis being open with their future.
LeBron James admitted he doesn’t know how much time he has remaining in the NBA as he turns 40 later this year.
Curry, James and Kevin Durant are the three pillars of their generation who remain stars in the twilight of their careers.
While big names like Chris Paul, Al Horford and Kyle Lowry remain active, it’s the aforementioned trio that has fought—and to this point won—a historic battle against Father Time.
Curry’s ability to shoot is ageless, and he’d likely find a home on an NBA roster well into his 40s if he wanted.

Durant recently suggested the same about Curry, James and himself playing into their 40s.
That said, what makes Curry special is his ability to create for himself with his quickness and get a shot off in the blink of an eye.
We’ll likely see him walk away when that skill begins to wane.
For right now, we should all probably sit around and appreciate the greatness while it’s still here.
