Selena Gomez was ready to be protective when she gave her six-year-old sister Gracie Teefey a red carpet debut at the Frozen 2 premiere last month.

On the BBC Radio 1 show Sounds, Selena, 27, shared that ‘I bent down and I looked at her before we stepped on.

‘And I said: “If you get nervous, if you get overwhelmed, just you know, pull my hand and I’ll take you off immediately.”‘

She recalled of Gracie: ‘And she’s like: “K.” And just walked straight on the carpet and has her like full moment with the feathers.’

The pop act warmly remembered: ‘And I’m like standing there, I’m like: “Gracie, why – get me in the picture too!” She was just living her life.’

Selena told host Nick Grimshaw, affectionately known to fans as ‘Grimmy,’ that ‘It’s, honestly, it was the coolest feeling’ to take Gracie to the red carpet.

‘I said to her, I was like: “This is my favorite carpet I have ever done.” Because she’s never done any of them and we didn’t force her to do that.’

She shared: ‘It’s everything we do to keep her safe. But my sister’s become very dramatic now, so she’s all about the dresses and the glitter.’

The ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber said on the UK radio show: ‘Oh, she had the best time. It was like Disneyland.’

Although Selena does not feature in either of the Frozen movies, she and Gracie arrived on the red carpet in full matching themed costumes.

The premiere was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which has lately been famous as the home of the Academy Awards.

Disney’s Frozen film series has gained such success that it has spawned a Broadway musical that opened at the St. James Theatre last year.
