Stephen Curry made seven 3-pointers before his first miss, finishing with a game-high 42 points and 11 treys in the Warriors’ 131-109 victory over the Pacers in Indiana on Thursday. The 10-time All-Star has eclipsed 40 points five times this season and will return to Indiana for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game later this month.

The Warriors held Pacers’ All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton to just five points on 2-for-7 shooting and limited the league’s top-ranked offense to just 109 points, about 15 points below their season average.

The Dubs conclude their five-game road trip with a 4-1 record and have tied last season’s total for road wins (11).

CURRY’S PERFECT QUARTER

Stephen Curry was on a heater in the first quarter, scoring 18 points on a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, with all of his attempts (and makes) coming from behind the arc.

Curry’s 18-point quarter tied his season-high in the first quarter and marked the most made 3-pointers he’s had in any quarter this season.

His career high for made 3-pointers in a quarter is seven, which he’s done twice and his highest-scoring quarter without a miss came against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 21. 2021, when he scored 25 points on a perfect 9-for-9 from the field.

Thursday’s opening quarter was a stark contrast from Wednesday, when Curry finished the game with just nine points and the Warriors had a season-low 15 points in the first quarter.

Curry doubled his total scoring output from the Sixers game in the first quarter on Thursday and the Warriors tripled their first-quarter point total with 45 points.

STEPH KEEPS SPLASHING

Curry’s acrobatic layup with 3.2 seconds remaining capped the first half on a 12-2 Warriors’ run and gave him 29 points in the half — his second half this season with at least that many points.

Curry only missed one of his 11 shot attempts in the half, hitting eight of his nine 3-point attempts. He tied his Splash Brother Klay Thompson for the most halves with eight-plus made threes (5) since play-by-play data was first tracked in 1996-97.

The Warriors won four of their five games during the road trip, with their lone loss coming in overtime despite 60 points from Curry.

The Warriors are now 24-25 on the season, with an opportunity to return to .500 against the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center on Saturday.
