Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry reportedly told the Boston Celtics to “enjoy” their last win after they took Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

Then-Celtics reserve Juwan Morgan relayed that story to Theo Pinson on the Run Your Race podcast.

Curry called his shot, as the Warriors then rattled off three straight wins to take the NBA Finals four games to two.

Not only that, but Golden State dominated as well, winning Games 4-6 by an average of 11 points (10 in Games 4 and 5, 13 in Game 6).

The four-time NBA champion even won the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP award after averaging 31.2 points per game, including 43 in Game 4 and 34 more in Game 6.

Going back to Game 3 for a moment, though, Curry’s reported proclamation was an incredible one to make considering how poorly the Warriors just played.

Golden State fell 116-100 to Boston in Game 3 after scoring just 11 points in the final quarter.

Not only that, but Golden State lost home-court advantage in the series after having fallen in Game 1 as well.

None of that mattered, ultimately, as Curry destroyed the C’s en route to his fourth ring.
