DJ Khaled receives special Hennessy collector’s item to commemorate 75 years of the NBA
A rapper and hip hop producer named DJ Khaled is one of many sports fans who also happens to be famous. He’s received a special bottle from cognac company Hennessy to commemorate his commitment to the game. In keeping with the league’s 75th anniversary, he received it.

NBA fans, like the creator of “We The Best,” are bursting with enthusiasm as the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics square off in the 2022 NBA Finals. In an effort to heighten the excitement around this eagerly awaited fight, Hennessy is commemorating the game’s 75th anniversary by creating a unique Masterpiece Carafe. Naturally, Khaled is the one who gets it.
Even though Khaled has always been a Miami Heat supporter and the team failed to advance to the championship game this season, at least the “Higher” producer can begin his summer lounging and enjoying a drink of cognac while wearing his newest, opulent glasses. In order to craft the special edition for the Grammy winner, Hennessy went above and beyond.
The item has actual gold inlays that are flung onto the seam outlines and is formed like a 1.5L Baccarat crystal basketball. The hardware also rests on top of its cover. It also includes two glasses that also have a basketball theme and a co-branded wooden box.
DJ Khaled enjoys drinking Hennessey a lot as well.
Khaled will most likely preserve the bottle and glassware as decorations, but the limited edition will undoubtedly not live long in his home. Khaled has been a fan of the brand for a long time; he has a song written especially for it, shares pictures of himself drinking it, and frequently mentions it in his music.
In the song “Weed & Hennessey,” which features Mavado, the partners brag about how much they enjoy drinking and smoking weed. “That mi waan fi di Sumaiya / Bare gyal inna the vehic’s / Full suit a Louie V / Weed and Hennessy / And a little bit a grabba leaf,” they rap.
The DJ went viral for his antics during NBA games.
Khaled is an avid hoops fan, much like many others. Usually sitting courtside, he can’t restrain himself during games, which results in a number of moments fit for a meme. He made an appearance at the 2022 NBA All-Star Games just this year. But he was ejected from the court following some airball attempts he made during a Heat vs. Hawks game in April 2022.
He entered the floor covertly at Miami’s FTX Arena, where the Heat defeated the Hawks 115-91 in the opening game of their NBA playoff series. He made a 3-pointer while on the court, but it was an airball. Attendees heckled Khaled with jeers. Security brought him back to his seat by the court.
His widely shared stunt brought to mind another one he had performed only two months prior, during All-Star weekend in Cleveland in February. After he airballed a three-pointer on the court at Rocket Mortgage Center, he remarked, “Never give up, it don’t matter,” according to The New York Post.
