Eminem is slammed for flipping off 49ers fans as he cheers on the Detroit Lions

Eminem has been criticized for sending an aggressive message to 49ers fans as he cheered on the Detroit Lions.

On Sunday (January 28), the 51-year-old rapper was in attendance at Levi’s Stadium to watch his hometown team play against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

The ‘Lose Yourself’ star, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has been at each home game during these NFL playoffs, where his beloved team won against the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to reach the season’s penultimate game.

But during the lion’s recent match, they started the game well but that fell apart as they ended up losing to the opposing team 34-31 – meaning they failed to make it to their first-ever Super Bowl.

He clearly wasn’t isn’t interested in any pleasantries with opposing fanbases as he was caught delivering his double middle fingers to the sea of red jerseys looking up at him.

Check out the moment below:

One fan slammed the rapper for the move, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “F***ing a** rapper. this is your fault. No good album since 03. Same flow since 2010. Lyrical miracle merchant. Mid Fortnite concert.”

Another chimed in: “Ugh he’s ruining football i cant stop showing him so much!” while a third remarked: “This Not It. No sir.”

A fourth added: “What would motivate him to do that? This a vivid example of the sad state of current American culture.”

Meanwhile, others praised the rapper for being supportive of his team, as one person shared: “As an Eminem lover and Niner hater this is everything to me.”

A second quipped: “Eminem, the real Slim Shady, proudly supporting the Detroit Lions,” and someone else quipped: “Eminem’s middle-finger game is unmatched. That hand shape is unmistakable. Like Michael Jordan’s silhouette.”

The 49ers scored 17 points in eight minutes of the third quarter to tie the NFC championship game and then pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a rematch against Kansas City after losing to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl four years ago.

Despite a tough loss to the opposing team, the Detroit native took to his social media to let everyone know how proud he is of his team, writing: “So proud of the @lions. Thanks 4 an amazing season!!!! We’ll b back!!!”

While Mathers will have to wait another year to see if the Lions can come back stronger, Taylor Swift will most likely be in attendance at the Superbowl (February 11) as her beau Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, beat the Baltimore Ravens to advance.
