Jennifer Aniston confirms David Schwimmer rumor live on-air
Jennifer Aniston finally confirmed a rumor about her and her former Friends co-star, David Schwimmer, after fans had speculated about it for decades.
Making an appearance on an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark in an interview that originally aired back in March 2023, Aniston told the hosts exactly what it was like kissing Schwimmer during their time on Friends.
The pair had played Ross Geller and Rachel Green in the hit sit-com, the on-off couple whom fans were rooting for throughout the many series.
However, fans have often wondered whether that incredible chemistry and attraction translated off-screen as well as on… and Jennifer has finally revealed the answer.
“Yes we did,” Aniston confirms almost immediately.
The audience started to cheer as the 54-year-old actress doubled down on her remark.
“We just let it play out on TV,” she says to the crowd in attendance.
“So, was your first kiss a TV kiss,” enquired Ryan Secrest, who was standing in for usual host Mark Consuelos on the show.
“Yes,” the Just Go With It star confirmed.
“And was it weird?”, Ripa asked.
“Well, no, it was quite enjoyable, actually,” she laughed, before going on to say: “Sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop so, we just channeled all of our love and adoration for each other into [their characters] Ross and Rachel.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the on-and-off-screen romance between Aniston and Schwimmer.
During the Friends: The Reunion documentary in 2021, Schwimmer, 56, confessed that he had a “major crush” on his on-screen love interest during the show’s first season.
Aniston also said that she shared the same feelings.
“At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary,” Schwimmer explained. “We respected that.”
In previous interviews, Aniston had also sworn that they never acted on their feelings after the camera stopped rolling.
“He was lovely, David was great,” she told Howard Stern in a 2021 interview. “But no, we never, on my life [got together]… We were in relationships and it was always never the right time and it wouldn’t have worked.”

“If David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston are legit dating I think this is the one chance we have as a planet for world peace,” added another at the time rumors started circling that the pair might have been dating – though this was never confirmed.
A third described them as “one of the biggest TV couples in the world:, writing: “Jennifer aniston & david schwimmer expressed their feelings for each through ross and rachel. no wonder they are one of the biggest tv couples in the world. #FriendsReunion.”
