The actor, 44, told PEOPLE on Tuesday that the members of the group “just talk about action stuff”

Kevin Hart is lifting the lid on a very secret society!

The actor, 44, claimed Monday that he’s part of a “secret” action movie chat group with stars including Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise at the premiere of his Netflix movie Lift.

“Yup! Dwayne, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Jet Li, Jackie Chan. All the biggest guys,” Hart jokingly tells PEOPLE at the Lincoln Center in New York City. “You know, we just talk about action stuff.”

“It’s a real secret chat, I shouldn’t be talking to you about this chat,” he disclosed. “I could get in a lot of trouble from the other action guys.”

Having now reached action-star status himself, Hart said he has much in common with action-movie buddies Cruise, 61, and Johnson, 51.

“We just share action stories that’s the thing, when you’re an action guy, you have to have action stories so our chat is all about ping-ponging action stories and just making sure that everyone’s in sync you know? That’s what it’s about,” he tells PEOPLE.

Hart has appeared in several films with Johnson, including Central Intelligence (2016), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) — though he has yet to work with the rest of the stars in his alleged group chat.

At the premiere on Monday, Hart also spoke about bonding with the cast of his latest film Lift, which stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, and Sam Worthington, who were also in attendance.

“I think there was a consistent continuous engagement that the cast stayed true to,” he tells PEOPLE. “The days on set ended with us in hotels eating dinner together. Whether it was all together or some on different days, there was an amazing piece of connectivity that ultimately added great value to what we got here.”

The action-packed movie, directed by F. Gary Gray, follows Hart’s character Cyrus Whitaker, who puts together a heist team to steal $500 million in gold from a passenger plane mid-flight.

Lift premieres in the U.S. and worldwide on Netflix on Jan. 12.
