Law and Order: Organized Crime fans blast ‘weird’ casting as SVU star joins spinoff as completely new character

Actor Michael Trotter will play Elliot’s younger brother Joe Stabler Jr. in the fourth season of the show, according to TVLine.

They also plan on introducing Elliot’s other brother Randall.

Joe, the youngest of the three brothers, was dishonorably discharged from the Army after over a decade in the armed forces.

After his departure, he chose to work for a British wine merchant with seemingly shady ties.

Randall, played by actor Dean Norris, has become a thriving real estate developer with ongoing tension with Elliot.

Michael Trotter also appeared on an episode of Law and Order: SVU as Detective Grace Muncy’s brother last season.

RECAST?

Law and Order fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were not happy with the recast of an SVU character.

One wrote: “I know they reuse people as different characters but come on—Michael was on as Muncy’s brother LAST season…that’s sort of close?”

Another replied: “Right? Could they not find literally anyone else?”

“Joe Jr. is… Muncy’s brother!?” asked a third.

A fan said: “I know they recycle actors, but damn, from season 24?? Like that’s still fresh in my brain. He’s still Muncy’s brother to me.”

“Literally played Muncy’s brother on SVU,” said a fifth.

Someone commented: “Didn’t he play Muncy’s brother last season though LMFAOO Law and Order universe is so UNSERIOUS.”

SHE CAME BACK

Law and Order revived a beloved character in its spinoff series Law and Order: SVU and fans went crazy.

The Law and Order universe will once again include actress Kelli Giddish.

Kelli, 43, has reprised her role as Detective Amanda Rollins for Law and Order: SVU’s 25th season premiere in January, TV Line reported.

The NBC star’s scheduled appearance will be the second time she’s been on the show since she was fired in 2022.

Kelli’s character was last seen on Law and Order: SVU in the season’s 24th finale episode.

Her comeback is very welcomed by fans.

One fan tweeted: “She [Kelli] needs to come back permanently.”

Another added: “Why don’t we just bring her back permanently or better yet you all shouldn’t have let her go in the first place!!”
