Megan Fox Is Caught In A Bromance Love Triangle In The Expendables 4 C.l.i.p
Megan Fox is one of many new faces joining the ensemble action franchise in an exclusive The Expendables 4 c.lip. The latest installment in the movie series finds the eponymous group of mercenaries attempting to stop a mysterious terrorist from getting his hands on a nuclear warhead while also seeking revenge for the seeming killing of team leader, Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross. The Expendables 4 ensemble cast includes both new and returning stars, including Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, 50 Cent, Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio and Andy García.
In honor of the movie’s 4K Ultra-HD, Blu-ray and DVD release on November 21, Screen Rant is exclusively premiering a new The Expendables 4 clip. The video, as seen at the top of this article, offers some insight for Fox’s character Gina, who finds herself tasked with leading the team of mercenaries when Statham’s Lee Christmas is sidelined for his personal connection to the mission. Fox herself teases how her character factors into the dynamic between Christmas and Stallone’s Barney Ross, being caught in a pseudo-love triangle with their bromance.
The Expendables 4 Continues A Great Fox Trend (In Spite Of Its Reviews)
While never a franchise showered with positive reviews, The Expendables 4 did prove to be the worst-performing installment yet, scoring largely negative reviews and becoming a box office bomb, only grossing $51 million against its $100 million production budget.
Prior to its release, anticipation was a mixed bag even among fans of the previous movies, though one of the key highlights of excitement was the addition of Fox to the cast. From the very first trailer of the movie, it was teased that Fox would not only have a prominent role, but would be in some stylish hand-to-hand action set pieces, including a fight with Statham’s Christmas.
Her role in the sequel also came as Fox was enjoying something of a career resurgence in the action-thriller genre. Though technically already a star in the field with the Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchises, Fox properly showed off her potential in the genre with the 2020 survival thriller Rogue, starring as a hardened mercenary fighting her way through a war-torn region of Africa while pursued by local insurgents and a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly lioness. She would continue this success with the 2021 thriller Till Death, which many critics hailed as a career-best performance for Fox.
Though The Expendables 4 may not have won many critics over, it does at least show a promising continuation of Fox’s trend of trying her hand as a proper modern action star.
