In anticipation of the upcoming Grammy Awards in March, where Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle’s “Deep Reverance” will be vying for Best Rap Performance, Sean unveiled a visual for the collaboration with the late Crenshaw rapper on Friday, March 5.

The nominee for HipHopDX’s 2020 Comeback of the Year embarks on a journey across Los Angeles, visiting various paintings, murals, and basketball courts paying homage to Nipsey. He enlists the guidance of West Coast legend Snoop Dogg, who cruises through the city in a sapphire blue lowrider.

Frequent collaborators of Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy, and Һit-Boy, also make guest appearances in the Sergio-directed video, honoring the fallen All Money In boss.

This bittersweet video arrives more than six months after its original August 2020 release. Nipsey was tragically shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in March 2019.

Sean took to Instagram to express the emotional depth of the track, stating, “This one of the most uncomfortable, honest songs I ever did. I said things on here I thought I’d never sаy publicly, but realized that u gotta live and own all your truths, cause u can’t always count on that opportunity to be there.

” He continued, expressing gratitude to Nipsey Hussle, “To one of the realest, most solid humans ever made @nipseyhussle! Thank you bro! You still blessing all of us! It’s deeper than 4Life it’s 4ever.”

After receiving a couple of posthumous awards in 2020, a win at the Grammys would mark Nipsey Hussle’s third victory, while Big Sean is still in search of his first gold trophy after five previous nominations. “Deep Reverence” faces competition from Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture,” Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s “Sаvаge,” Pop Smoke’s “Dior,” Jack Harlow’s “WHATS POPPIN,” and DaBaby’s “Bop.”
