Andy Reid: “3rd Down Defense was Incredible” Talks About Frozen Mustache!!!!

Following a 26-7 win over the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Head Coach Andy Reid was in a good mood when talking to the press. Reid, who is known for complimenting his players, joking around, and being genuine, made no exception Saturday night when speaking to the media.

Andy Reid Pointed Out Defense, Passing the Ball on Offense

In his opening statement, Reid made it very clear that he was very impressed with his defense, particularly with the third down defense.

“Hat’s go off to the team… Our defense with the third down ratio was incredible with the job they did. One for twelve on third down, that’s quite a stat there.”

Reid then went on to compliment the offensive and defensive line and then started to name off just about every starting player (at least it seemed like it). When talking about starting QB Patrick Mahomes he mentioned the ability to start fast.

Pat did great from the getgo. He was able to go out and sling it…not a lot of QB’s can do that in that kind of weather…it was one of those good days.”

Chiefs Advance to the Divisional Round for the Sixth Straight Seaseon

The success that the Chiefs have had in the Playoffs has been phenomenal since 2017. The Chiefs have played in two wildcard games, winning both, and five divisional games that they have also all won. Overall, Patrick Mahomes now has the second-longest win streak of any quarterback among wildcard and divisional-round playoff games.

The Chiefs will await the winner of the Steelers vs Bills game to find out where they will play next week. If the Steelers win, Kansas City will get another home game but will travel to Buffalo if the Bills prevail. Something to consider is that the Chiefs will have an extra two days to heal up and prepare (and warm back up) for the next round while the winner of Steelers vs Bills will have a short week following the postponement of their game due to weather.

There was a funny side story going on throughout the game showing the mustache of Andy Reid. With windchill in the negatives, the famous stache literally froze and had miniature icicles forming. When asked about it, Reid had a clever answer.
