The footballer’s wife Victoria, 47, took to her Instagram Stories where she shared sweet photographs of the black dog fawning over David as he tried to stretch.

‘She loves him so much!’ wrote the former Spice Girl alongside a snap of Fig with a toy in her mouth and a paw on David’s chest as he lay on a mat.

Another shot showed Fig dutifully waiting by David’s hand as he had his arms outstretched, with Victoria captioning the upload: ‘Stretch buddy.’

In a final photograph, the adorable Cocker Spaniel had rolled onto her back and was licking David’s face, while he lay on his front.

Victoria gushed alongside the sweet post: ‘When trying to stretch… Fig just wants a cuddle.’

Writing ‘Hello gurls’, the snap is the latest in a long line posted by the proud star of his beloved dogs, who live at the family’s idyllic Cotswolds home.
