Disturbed Lead Singer David Draiman Sends Taylor Swift an Enticing Invite

‘Disturbed Swifties’ are behind the invitation 100 percent.

David Draiman surprised some Disturbed fans when he defended Taylor Swift during one of his band’s shows last month, and now he is doubling down on his support for the megastar.

Swifties may not have expected to hear such a strong defense of the “Lover” songstress coming from the lead singer of a heavy metal group. While some in the crowd at a Jan. 19 Disturbed show booed Draiman’s mention of Swift onstage, he was quick to shut them down.

“Don’t talk s— about Taylor Swift,” he reprimanded them. “She is for real. And she’s making sure that an entire generation of new music fans understand what it means to actually play music live.”

Draiman spoke in support of Swift again at another recent Disturbed concert. The band shared a clip of his comments about the “Cruel Summer” singer on social media on Feb. 21.

The TikTok clip began with Draiman onstage telling his audience that it is “true we don’t write” about lighthearted topics like “rainbows and puppy dogs.” When one fan in the crowd interrupted to contrast Disturbed’s music with Swift’s, Draiman told them she “still kicks a—.”

“I’m very happy for Taylor and her boy, and all her success,” Draiman told the crowd. He then extended an invitation to Swift that was tied to “Don’t Tell Me,” a new song featuring vocals by Ann Wilson that Disturbed released last fall on their November 2023 album Divisive.

“I might as well put it out there: Taylor, if you ever wanna come sing ‘Don’t Tell Me’ with us live, you’re more than welcome,” Draiman said as his audience cheered. “It would be an honor to have you on this stage.”

Draiman said that he thinks Swift “would make Ann Wilson proud” and added that he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks about the idea of the pop star joining the heavy metal group for an onstage collaboration.

TikTokers were thrilled by Draiman’s invitation.

“I love that disturbed are swifties,” one TikToker commented, while another said fans “need this duo.” The band responded to both comments with rock on and fire emojis.

Some TikTokers pitched other potential Disturbed-Swift collaborations, as one person suggested Draiman sing Swift’s “I Did Something Bad” from her Reputation album, while another said they’d like to hear him take on Bon Iver’s vocals in “Exile” from Swift’s Folklore.

Many fans tagged Swift’s TikTok account to be sure she saw Draiman’s invitation.

“You singing with David Draiman would be a dream come true for this Disturbed Swiftie!” one TikToker wrote.

“Love how you guys support @TaylorSwift,” another TikTok user said. “I would love a duet with you guys it would be epic.”

“I didn’t know I needed that collab, but I need it like I need oxygen,” one fan commented.
