She took to Instagram earlier in the day to unveil the inkings, opting for three quotes on her arms by the late scholar and philosopher Alan Watts.

One quote read: ‘Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.’

Another inking was: ‘To believe in God, we cannot likewise have faith, since faith is not clinging but letting go.’

The final quote read: ‘Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.’

Doja’s latest public appearance comes after she spoke out against online trolls, a reaction to the negative comments she receives from a minority of followers on social media.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the star explained that she supports stars she admires like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj but has no respect for online haters.

‘People don’t wanna accept I’m dissing them so they try to pin it on cardi nicki and meg and every other female rapper,’ she said.

‘I don’t diss rappers I diss critics. Stay bored. Stay reaching… I don’t diss people I’m inspired by don’t diss people I look up to.’

‘TO BE 100% CLEAR because I know you all need me to talk REEEEAL SLOOOOOOW for you; I’m not dissing anyone but the f***in phonies in my comment sections.’

The rapper also announced her new album, Scarlet, will be released on September 22.

Doja claimed that her future music will be ‘authentic’ after she channeled all the ‘rage’ she felt toward the music industry into an eclectic album that traverses ‘rap, soul and R’n’B music with jazz’.

In a cover interview with V magazine – which saw the star free the nipple in a mesh top – she said: ‘I have thrown fits my whole career because I have been making music that didn’t allow me to have a mental release.

She said: ‘I have been making music that is palatable, marketable and sellable, that has allowed me to be where I am now.

‘These upcoming projects are going to be very different compared to everything I have done and I am excited about that. I do not care if people are not.’
