Hailey Bieber is ‘inviting more people to dislike her’ and will be the only person damaged in Selena feud, says expert

HAILEY Bieber’s profile might tank in the wake of her online feud involving Selena Gomez, a PR expert has said.

And she thinks the model’s fans could desert her in droves while hardworking Selena comes out on top.

Kylie reportedly kicked off this latest social media feud after Selena shared a post showing her new look brows, writing: “I accidentally laminated my brows too much.”

Reality star Kylie then shared a selfie on Instagram stories and wrote over her eyebrows: “This was a mistake?”

At the same time, Kylie also shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Hailey and which appeared to focus on the pair’s eyebrows.

While both Kylie and Selena denied there was a feud, fans have been closely following their social media behavior and aren’t convinced.

In one case, they point to a throwback video of Hailey making a gagging sign at the mention of Taylor Swift’s name.

“I’m too old for this,” Selena commented on the video. “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

But if the speculation about public sniping is hurting anyone, it’s not Selena.

In fact, the former Disney Channel star, 30, has since become Instagram’s most-followed female, earning eight million more followers.

By contrast, since the online rift unfolded, Kylie Jenner has reportedly lost half a million followers — and Hailey’s lost even more.

“This reported online feud will continue to damage Hailey’s and even Kylie Jenner’s reputation,” PR expert Lauren Beeching told The U.S. Sun.

“When it comes to Hailey, this is where the real reputation damage comes in.

“The problem for Hailey is that she already had mixed public opinion, so this has added fuel to the fire.

“This situation will encourage those who were not fans to share their dislike online while inviting even more people to dislike her.

“People are now claiming that she and Justin Bieber are going to break up and are using the fact Justin has kept silent throughout this as crucial evidence.

“Many mentions question Hailey’s relevancy without Justin and that she is jealous of Selena.

“By contrast, this is a huge reputational gain for Selena, who took over Kylie as the most followed female on Instagram.

“Selena has gained massively from this bizarre situation.

“She’s gained a considerable amount of new social media following and is being seen incredibly positively.

“This couldn’t have gone better for her.”

This latest spat between the three women isn’t the first time the celebrities stirred up controversy on and offline.

The former Wizards of Waverley Place actress is said to have a chequered history with Hailey after the latter started dating Justin Bieber shortly after he and Selena split.

At the time, Stephen Baldwin’s daughter Hailey maintained that there was never any crossover and that her husband was single at the time.

But the pair were married within just a few months.

Previously, photos of Selena in a swimsuit showed that she’d gained some weight.

Soon after, Hailey appeared in a now-deleted TikTok with Kendall Jenner and their friend Justine Skye, lip-syncing: “I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.”

No one ever said the video was aimed at Selena, but fans were sure it was a dig.

Fans this week have now split into teams, with those supporting Selena uprooting posts shared by Hailey in the past.

They show the model gushing openly about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez and calling their relationship “a teenage dream”

More recently, comments surrounding Hailey and Justin’s marriage have been gathering momentum online.

On Twitter, one user wrote: “I think someday he’ll bite the bullet and divorce Hailey and eventually Selena/Justin will get back together.”

Another posted: “Justin Bieber and Hailey gonna file for divorce in the next 6 months (hoping this will age well, see u in 6 months).”

Amid this latest drama, the Rare Beauty founder and philanthropist has been out and about heading to the set of her hit Hulu show Only Murders in the Building.

“While this feud can suggest Selena is being picked on, Selena certainly encouraged the rationale that she and Hailey are not friends.

“She publicly defended Taylor Swift in a clip posted of Hailey seemingly pulling a face when Taylor’s name is mentioned, pushing this theory further with fans.

“It’s worth noting that rumors have been floating around about new music coming very soon from Selena, and she’s been feeding her fans with potential hints on social media.

“What’s more, there are even more rumors that new music could feature the Chainsmokers, this is after speculation that the lead (Drew Taggart) and Selena are dating.

“Meryl Streep has also just joined the cast for the new season of ‘Only Murders In The Building’.

“This is incredibly well-timed positive PR, and some online suggest that it could be one big positive press stunt around Selena.

“This comes before she gives her fans the new music they’ve been waiting for.

“Otherwise, Kylie will experience very little reputation damage from this; at worst, she’s lost some fans who are also fans of Selena.

“Most will see that Kylie’s part (if there is any, as she has denied it) is incredibly small.”
