Taylor Swift became the youngest person ever to grace Forbes’ world’s most powerful women list, released on Wednesday.
25-year-old popstar Swift, made the list at number 64 backed by her status as a music megastar with an estimated 58 million twitter followers and reputed earnings of $64 million.
The list chosen by the magazine’s editors includes women from a variety of backgrounds and industries including politics, economics and media.
Swift’s album “1989” sold more than 3.5 million copies last year giving her the bragging rights of being one of three artists to go platinum in 2014.
Forbes said in a statement that Swift “has not only broken record sales and captivated the world with her fantastically honest lyrics, but she has proven herself as an impressive businesswoman.”
Forbes also noted Taylor’s willingness to interact with her fans also known as “Swifties” as one of the reasons behind her global influence.
