Austin said he doesn’t think Bronny should play alongside LeBron

NBA free agent Austin Rivers, son of Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, now works for ESPN and on Monday projected his own insecurities onto Bronny James by saying he should not play with LeBron James because then people will discredit him.
Austin, 31, said he doesn’t think Bronny should play alongside LeBron, who has said countless times that the only thing left for him in the NBA is playing with his son.

“I mean, I hope it doesn’t happen. I don’t want to see Bronny play with his Dad,” Rivers said on ESPN. “I really don’t. I went through something similar, it was a very similar situation, but also different. I was already in the NBA when I went to go play for him [my father].
“What happens is a lot of people start to discredit what you’ve done… Him getting drafted and playing with his dad, I don’t want that negativity to come his way. He doesn’t deserve it.”
Austin Rivers was just another guy
Austin had a few good seasons in the NBA as a rotation player, but never lived up to the expectations he had coming out of Duke.
Nepotism claims always chased Austin throughout his career and even into his television career. Bronny’s road will be completely different.
Some people believe Bronny won’t even be drafted despite LeBron saying he would sign with whichever team does so and have even compared him to Michael Jordan‘s son.
