The joint performance of “Queen of Pop” Madonna and female rapper Tokischa caused controversy because of a same-s.e.x kiss and a series of offensive and sexually suggestive dance moves.
On Thursday night (June 23, local time), Madonna held a concert at Terminal 5 in New York (USA) to celebrate Pride Month honoring people in the LGBTQ+ community.

During the show, the “Queen of Pop” sang with Dominican rapper Tokischa the song Hung Up – Madge’s 2005 hit.
Not only wearing provocative outfits, the two music stars also performed a series of sexually suggestive dances such as bending, touching, caressing each other’s bodies… on stage. Tokischa also knelt at her feet and described sexual acts with Madonna.

The combination of Madonna and Tokischa shocked both the media and the online community. Daily Mail assessed that it was one of Madonna’s most terrible shows.
Meanwhile, netizens criticized Madonna for being old but unable to control her behavior, causing discomfort and confusion for viewers, while also bringing an unsympathetic and deviant image to the LGBTQ+ community.
Tokischa, full name Tokischa Altagracia Peralta, was born in 1996 in Los Frailes, a neighborhood in eastern Santo Domingo – the capital of the Dominican Republic. Tokischa is openly bisexual.
Before being discovered by manager Raymi Paulus of Paulus Music in 2016, the female rapper had a checkered past, being an addict and a prostitute.
According to Rolling Stones , Tokischa is an advocate of sexual freedom, queer desire, and radical feminism.

In 2021, Tokischa and her collaborator, J Balvin, were criticized for releasing the MV Perra, which depicted black Dominicans in a neighborhood as animals. J Balvin later apologized and removed the video. Tokischa also expressed remorse for those who felt offended, but still defended his collaborators on the grounds that “art is expression”.
Earlier this month, Madonna teased the collaboration between her and her juniors in music by posting a photo of the two of them in the recording studio, with the caption: “A woman’s work is never done.” .
