Madonna is celebrating a milestone birthday for one of her kids.
The pop icon, 65, threw a lavish bash in celebration of son David Banda’s 18th birthday. The birthday boy, decked out in a tux, enjoyed dancing, entertainers and a crowd filled with friends and family — including younger siblings, Mercy James, 16, and 11-year-old twins Stella and Estere.
Sharing scenes from the event in an Instagram Reel Tuesday, the “Material Girl” singer wrote, “Happy 18th Birthday David Banda! Tribal Name -Senzangakhona- . Descendant of the Ngoni Tribe!”
“It is impossible to believe that almost 18 years have gone by since We met you in Mchinji at Home of Hope Orphanage!” the proud mom continued. “Your name means ‘Speak the truth!’ I couldn’t think of a better name for an artist!”
“You are growing into a truly remarkable human being! We are all so proud or you! ♥️🇲🇼,” she concluded. “You light up like the brightest star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️.”

Madonna’s two oldest children — daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, and son Rocco Ritchie, 23 — were not pictured at the event, as they were at Paris Fashion Week.
The mom of six celebrated her 65th birthday on Aug. 16. Madonna later shared a compilation of photos and videos of the vacation on Instagram, accompanied by her hit song “Vogue,” as she shared what she got up to with fans.
“It’s great to be Alive,” she wrote in the caption. “Amazing to Be able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate my Birthday! 🎉🎉🎉 Im So Grateful.”
“Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible! 🇵🇹♥️,” Madonna added.
The celebration came after longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed the singer’s hospitalization in late June through an Instagram post.
“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several day stay in the ICU,” Oseary wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.”
“A full recovery is expected,” he added.
The manager also wrote that the singer would have to “pause all commitments,” including her Celebration Tour — the new dates for which have since been announced by Live Nation.
