Nick Wright Makes His Thoughts Clear About Patrick Mahomes Debate

With the Kansas City Chiefs winning a second consecutive Super Bowl title, superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrust himself into another category of greatness, as he is now chasing New England Patriots legend Tom Brady for rings.

Mahomes’ style of play and relentless resilience have been incredible during his time in Kansas City thus far, and he might have a lot more left to show and prove as the face of the Chiefs franchise.

Even though he’s four rings behind the future Hall of Famer, an interesting debate has sprung up after another incredible Super Bowl-winning performance against the San Francisco 49ers.
Although Mahomes will be compared to Brady for the rest of his career, and understandably so, the debate is about whether there’s a comparison to the Chiefs superstar.

Nick Wright of FOX Sports believes there is no comparison to Mahomes, as he’s one of one, like sports icons Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzky, and Tiger Woods, via “First Things First.”

“There is no comp for Patrick Mahomes,” Wright said. “… He is going to be the standard to which guys are held. He is not held to anyone’s standard. He is Babe Ruth, he is Wayne Gretzky, he is Tiger Woods.”

Although it seems like a bit of a stretch, Wright might be on to something with this, as Mahomes is the kind of quarterback that we’ve never seen and may never see again when he decides to walk away from the game, which will probably be many years down the road.
