‘Something is cooking’ – Neymar hangs out with David Beckham to send rumours of ‘MSN’ reunion with Lionel Messi & Luis Suarez at Inter Miami into overdrive

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Brazilian has had quite time of it in the Sunshine State over the last week, throwing the opening pitch at the Miami Marlins, taking in the tennis at the Miami Open and partying with a host of celebs.

But it was his meeting with David and Victoria Beckham that got fans fired up with the prospect of Neymar joining former Barcelona colleagues Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to reunite the MSN triumvirate one they were happy to get carried away with.

WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

“Something is cooking,” reacted @KylianHaaland7 to the photo.

“This is insane. Let’s run it,” said @kwesiijr

“Take us back!” replied another X user @usman_shettima.

“Heat up the rumour mill,” posted MLS reporter Favian Renkel. “Neymar just posted a picture on his Instagram story with David and Victoria Beckham. Who thinks there was a little come to MLS sales pitch in this conversation?”

@miamicasuals pointed out: “Beckham said he worked on Messi for five years before Messi ended up coming to Inter Miami. Neymar is way younger. It’ll happen at some point.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

While the prospect of reuniting one of the most famous frontlines of all time has supporters excited, it’s a prospect that would likely fill Inter Miami’s accounts department with dread.

The Herons’ ambitious recruitment has already put them end up in a precarious situation with regard to MLS salary limits, even after reportedly recruiting Suarez on discounted terms. Any deal to add Neymar to the mix would require a substantial financial feat.

WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR AND INTER MIAMI?

While Neymar continues to rehab from the latest in an unfortunate series of injuries, his former colleagues are gearing up for a big week which sees them host both New York City on Saturday night in MLS, followed by Monterrey in a CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final on Thursday.
