The extreme way desperate Taylor Swift fans plan on getting to her Australian shows

In the next few days, global pop sensation Taylor Swift is set to kick off her highly anticipated “irz” tour in Australia,

sending excitement levels soaring among her devoted fanbase, known as Swifties.

However, as airfares and accommodation options reach astronomical heights in Sydney and Melbourne ahead of her shows, fans are resorting to drastic measures to ensure they don’t miss out on the ultimate Swift experience.

With commercial flights and lodging prices skyrocketing in anticipation of the tour, some fans are contemplating extraordinary steps to attend the concerts. Private jet flights have emerged as a preferred choice for fans who don’t reside in Sydney or Melbourne, with flight centers revealing a surge in inquiries for charter flights to the cities hosting Swift’s performances.

For instance, commercial flights from Brisbane to Melbourne for the February 16th show are priced at a staggering $569, while the following week, prices dropped significantly to $118. Amid this frenzy, some travelers are opting for private charter flights to secure their seats at the concert venues, despite the considerable expense involved.

Ammin, a charter aircraft company, disclosed that they were fully booked for both Sydney and Melbourne shows. Taylor Swift’s concerts, estimated to accommodate 86,000 people per night at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), are expected to draw massive crowds from February 16th to February 18th, followed by four sold-out shows at ANZ Stadium in Sydney from February 24th to February 26th.

Meanwhile, fans have devised unconventional strategies to maximize their concert experience, including some rather bizarre suggestions. One Melbourne ticket holder, posting anonymously on a fan forum, suggested wearing adult diapers to avoid missing any songs while waiting in line for the toilets.

As excitement mounts, concerns have been raised about the estimated 15,000 fans expected to show up without tickets, risking crowd management issues. Venu NSW has cautioned ticketless fans against congregating outside the stadiums, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order and safety.

Howard Collins, Transport for NSW Coordinator General, acknowledged the inevitability of fans gathering around popular music venues without tickets. While discouraging ticketless fans from attending, Collins emphasized the need for crowd management strategies to accommodate additional people who may travel to the cities for the event.

Despite warnings from authorities, businesses are gearing up to welcome Taylor Swift’s fans, regardless of their ticket status. Paul Nicolo, Chief Executive of Business Sydney, emphasized the city’s commitment to embracing all Swifties, acknowledging their contribution to the local economy and cultural scene.

For those unable to secure tickets to the live shows, there’s good news. The new version of Taylor Swift’s “irz” tour will be exclusively available on Disney+ from March 15th. The updated film, which has already made history as the highest-grossing concert film of all time, will feature five new songs never seen before in theaters or digital formats, allowing Swifties to experience the entire show from the comfort of their homes.

With Taylor Swift’s “irz” tour about to kick off, fans are leaving no stone unturned to be part of this historic musical extravaganza, making it an event to remember for years to come.
