The reason why you need to re-watch Rihanna’s impressive performance at the MTV VMAs is here! (video)

Leave it to RiRi to work, work, work in a HBA tee, thigh-high Vetements x Manolo Blahnik boots and more.

Rihanna brought the house down at Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening.

RiRi opened the MTV VMAs, performing a medley of her biggest hits including “Diamonds” and “Where Have You Been.”

Styled by Mel Ottenberg, she kept it cool in a Hood by Air crew-neck tee by Shayne Olivier and white pants with a corset-like belt.

The look was completed by Comme des Garcons shoes, Cutler and Gross shades, a Hearts on Fire diamond necklace and Lydia Courteille ruby rings.

Hood by Air, known for its luxe streetwear, was founded by Olivier in 2006.

The label has fans in Drake, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz and Kanye West. In 2015, HBA’s Olivier won the Swarovski Award for menswear at the 2015 CFDA Awards.

No stranger to taking streetwear styles to the next level, the “Needed Me” singer proved once again she’s the queen of turning any place into a runway.

During her second, giant dance-party performance, where she performed “Work,” “What’s My Name” and “Rude Boy,” RiRi got down in a pink bra with fur trim by Italian lingerie label Rosamosario, Alexandre Vauthier black trousers with fishnet details, and an Adam Selman white tee hoodie with an extra-long mesh durag that got everyone talking on Twitter. She added some bling via a diamond-encrusted Chopard watch. The third performance, which included the tracks “Needed Me,” “Pour It Up” and “Bitch Better Have My Money,” saw the singer opt for Vetements x Manolo Blahnik thigh-high boots from the Vetements spring 2017 collection.

RiRi wrapped up her four-part performance in couture. The performer donned an Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown as she sang “Stay” and “Diamonds” under a chandelier with an orchestra behind her. After her powerful performance, RiRi was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by a tuxedo-clad Drake.

“What’s most impressive is the person,” said the Canadian rapper. “She succeeds by doing what nobody in this music industry does, by being herself.”

In addition to receiving the award show’s highest honor, RiRi was nominated in four categories: best female video for “Work” featuring Drake; best male video as a featured act on Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For”; and two in the best collaboration category for the aforementioned singles.

The rest of the evening saw performances by Beyonce, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign, Future, and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.

After the VMAs, RiRi could be heading to Paris next, where she’ll reportedly present her spring collection for Fenty x Puma.
