Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, says he is “heartbroken” over the shooting that took place on Wednesday at the end of the team’s Super Bowl parade.
According to authorities, two people have died and at least 22 people were shot outside Union Station minutes after the team ended the parade and rally.

Kelce, who has been an invaluable piece of the Chiefs’ three championships of the last five years, shared his sentiments online after the horrific incident.
The tight end’s full message on X read “I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me”.
Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, also shared messages on social media lamenting the incident.
The quarterback’s short message read “Praying for Kansas City…” along with three praying hands emoji.
His wife, Brittany, condemned Wednesday’s shooting saying “shooting people is never the answer” and that she was “praying for Kansas City & America in general, this is rough”.
Video shows the chaos during Chiefs’ parade as shots are fired
The Chiefs, the NFL, along with other league franchises posted statements online sharing their grief over the tragedy and offering their support of the Kansas City community.
The Valentine’s Day parade was expected to gather more than one million people in Kansas City to celebrate the team’s 22-25 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
Kansas City Police and the NFL have confirmed that no players or staff were among the injured.
While Police have three suspects in custody, no motive has been released.
