It’s official – Lady Gaga has taken off her engagement ring.

The superstar stunned fans when she announced that she had broken things off with her fiancé Taylor Kinney last month.

After she shared a message explaining that the couple were confident about a reconciliation, fans remained hopeful they would get back together.

Their hopes were dashed last night however when Gaga made her first appearance without her engagement ring.

The Do What You Want singer stepped out in New York to celebrate her close friend Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday.

She wore a classy black velvet dress that flashed a LOT of leg as she made her way into the Empire State Building.

Despite hoping to get back with the hunky actor, the singer appeared to embracing her newly single life.

Gaga, began dating 35-year-old Taylor in 2011 after meeting on the set for her video You And I. The Hollywood duo confirmed their engagement in February of 2015.

The couple announced their separation in a post on social media last month following weeks of rumours about their relationship.

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates,” she wrote on Instagram. “Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.

“We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared.”

The 30-year-old when on to say that she hopes her fans are rooting for them because they’re still very much in love.

“Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”
