Cardi B has taken a swipe at arch enemy Nicki Minaj in a new Instagram post for claiming she bought her way into chart success.
The Be Careful hitmaker, 25, took to Instagram on Wednesday to hit back at her 35-year-old rival over her claims Cardi bought her way into the charts, insisting ‘numbers don’t lie’ when it comes to her sales figures.
Cardi shared a post showing her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, has the number three spot on 2018’s top 10 best selling hip-hop albums, adding the defiant caption: ‘NUMBERS DONT F***IN LIE.’ [sic]
She also uploaded a video from a 2016 concert and wrote: ‘7/29/2016! NO LABEL, NO RADIO PLAY, FRESH OUT OF LOVE AND HIP HOP, ONLY 200K IN MY BANK ACCOUNT, MY FIRST TOUR !!!
‘Nobody can make you feel like you cheated yourself or you don’t deserve to be where you at when you KNOW YOU WORKED YOURSELF TO THE TOP !!! THANK YOU BARDIGANG! YOU BEEN HERE SINCE THE GET GO!’ [sic]
Speaking days after their shocking altercation at a New York Fashion Week party, the Chun-Li hitmaker said of the brawl: ‘You knew that when that footage came out, you were about to look dumb.
‘So your team, they hurry up and put out a statement. I didn’t stop anyone’s bags. She had to say that because she has built her career of sympathy and payola.’
She also admitted that the row had been a ‘humiliating’ experience for her, saying: ‘The other night I was part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper echelon people who have their life together.
‘I was in a Gaultier gown — off the motherf***ing runway — and I could not believe how humiliated we all felt.’
However, Cardi B reportedly feels ‘zero remorse’ for throwing a shoe at Nicki during their furious showdown, which took place on Saturday.
The I Like It hitmaker was simply ‘defending her daughter’s honour’ after hearing the Anaconda rapper had been ‘talking trash’ about her family, sources claimed.
Cardi believes Nicki likes to ‘incite people for sport’ and was so enraged by her alleged comments that she would throw a shoe at her again, according to TMZ.
‘Cardi B wouldn’t change a damn thing about her decision to attack Nicki Minaj, in fact, she’d even chuck her shoe again in that same situation,’ a source told the site.
‘Cardi was simply defending her daughter’s honor after hearing Nicki had been talking trash about her family… and she’d still sling her stiletto if she had to do it all over again.’
The insider added: ‘Cardi thinks Nicki has some nerve saying she needs an intervention, when Nicki is the one who incites people almost for sport.’
After the fight, Cardi B posted on Instagram to accuse Minaj of ‘talking s**t’ about her parenting skills.
Cardi B — real name Belcalis Almanzar — gave birth to daughter Kulture in July.
‘You’ve threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f**king with them! I let you talk big s**t about me.
‘I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person and every time you copped a plea!!
But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f***ing off!
‘I’ve worked too hard and come too far to let anybody f**k with my success!!! B*****s talk all that s**t in they raps but in real life they p**sy. This s**t really is for entertainment.’ [sic]
Addressing the accusation on her Queen Radio show, Minaj – real name Onika Tanya — said she would ‘never talk about anyone’s child or parenting’ — which Cardi reportedly branded ‘a baldfaced lie’.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Cardi and Nicki for comment.
‘I would never talk about anyone’s child’s or parenting, I don’t give a s**t. It’s so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy. if you’re right in whatever you’re doing, you don’t ever have to make someone into the bad guy,’ Nicki said.
‘You know I didn’t say or never did talk about anyone’s child… I am not a clown, that’s clown s**t. The other thing that is clown s**t is telling the world that they did s**t because you look dumb.’
She added that Cardi will ‘die’ if she keeps trying to fight people.
‘You put your hands on certain people you gonna die. PERIOD. And y’all sitting here making this s*** a joke? I’m not the b***es in the strip club and I’m not a b*** on a reality show. My money is very f***ing long,’ she vented.
