It sounds like his sister and mother are both completely on board with the romance, and it also sounds like Simpson and McKeon are very much in love. In contrast, when Cody Simpson dated Miley Cyrus, it sounded like their situation was much more chill.

Angie called having McKeon in her life “wonderful” and explained that when McKeon was younger, Angie managed several swim teams, and McKeon was one of her athletes. It sounds like it has been a lot of fun for the family to get to know her again. According to E! Even though Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson dated for almost 12 months, it doesn’t sound like the breakup was bad. Instead, when Simpson talked about the split in an interview for The Kyle & Jackie O Show, he shared that he felt positively about the situation.

According to Billboard, Simpson said, “It’s kinda of a mutual decision between us, just knowing that we were going in different directions in our life. I had just started training at the point, so my life was changing a lot and eventually I knew that I had to move back to Australia to do it properly.”

He continued, “She was just going with her whole new album and going on tour and stuff, so it was a kind of fork in the road kind of scenario, really.”

According to Page Six, Simpson appeared on the TV series 60 Minutes, which airs in Australia, and said that they were pals and then began dating. Of the breakup, he said, “It was just one of those phases, I guess. You go through [it] and you learn a lot from it.”
