Lil Nas X tells haters off as he responds to Dave East and 50 Cent making fun of his Nicki Minaj Halloween costume
Lil Nas X took the high road while reacting to rappers Dave East and 50 Cent for making fun of the Old Town Road hitmaker for his over-the-top Nicki Minaj Halloween costume.
The Panini rapper, 21, addressed their homophobic comments on Twitter Monday night, seeming to pity the pair of rappers for getting so worked up over another adult’s costume.
‘It’s november 2nd and grown men are waking up to have group discussions about a costume i wore on halloween,’ openly gay artist Nas posted to his 5.3million followers.
He told people to lay off in another tweet, writing: ‘bro i don’t bother a soul in this industry. all i do is tweet and make bangers. leave me alone damn.’
Mocking the haters, the Georgia-born rapper followed up with a meme showing two cartoon men’s very different reactions to the costume.
‘He’s part of the agenda to emasculate the black male and and ruin the minds of the little kids while destroying the nuclear family,’ said one unhinged looking fellow while a chill, bearded bloke simple chimed in: ‘lol he killed that.’
Over the weekend East got heated while sharing a picture of Lil Nas X on his Instagram story.
‘And y’all was mad at me about this n***a,’ he wrote, before adding ‘Bati mon bun up!!!!’
‘Batty man’ is a homophobic slur that originated from Jamaica, where homosexuality is still outlawed, but only for men according to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association.
Two-time Grammy winner Nas took direct aim at East in a now-deleted tweet quoted on Complex, writing: ‘Can’t even be homophobic in the proper way smh, Butchering the hell out of the patois.’
Always ready with an opinion, 50 Cent also made a stink about Lil Nas’ costume.
Retweeting photos of Nas Maraj, he wrote: ‘What the f**k, Nikki [sic] come get him!!! Lol.’
Lil Nas clapped back, retweeting the very nosy In Da Club rapper and asking: ‘why u in barb business.’
While the country/rap artist got some flack for his look, most loved the masterful recreation of her look from the 2010 music video for her single Super Bass, from her debut studio album Pink Friday.
He put on a busty display in a skintight pink print bodysuit, while sporting a flat-ironed wig, half blonde and half pink.
He completed the look with some pink and yellow bangles and a pair of neon green stilettos, while straddling a motorcycle ice sculpture, much like the one from the video.
Lil Nas X captioned the photos ‘NAS MARAJ,’ referencing the name of his Nicki stan account, for which he finally claimed responsibility back in June.
X came out last June on the last day of Pride Month, writing on Twitter: ‘some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure.’
