Madame Tussauds recently moved an old Nicki Minaj wax figure from Las Vegas to Germany and it looks nothing like her.

Madame Tussauds is no stranger to controversy and now they are facing backlash over a Nicki Minaj wax figure in Germany.

Year on year, millions of people visit the Madame Tussauds wax museums to see recreations of their favourite celebrities and historical figures. From Rihanna to Miley Cyrus, nearly every superstar has one. Usually, fans are impressed by how realistic the sculptures are. However, every now and then, Madame Tussauds comes under fire for its depiction of certain people.

Just last year, Ariana Grande fans were outraged by an “unrecognisable” wax figure of her in their London museum and now Nicki Minaj fans are criticising Madame Tussauds for their “offensive” wax figure of the rap icon in their Berlin museum.

Just this week (Jan 7), Madame Tussauds unveiled a Nicki Minaj wax figure in Berlin. It’s actually an old sculpture which was initially shown in their Las Vegas museum in 2015 but many fans are only just seeing it now and they are not impressed. The figure is meant to depict Nicki in her ‘Anaconda’ video but fans were quick to point out that it doesn’t look like her at all.

Twitter immediately began roasting the sculpture. One person joked: “If ever there was a time for Roman to seek revenge…”, and another wrote: “Everyone involved in the making of this travesty deserves to be jailed.” A fan also tweeted: “dunno why but i’m gettin real princess anne vibes”. Someone even added: “i don’t know how to explain it but this is racist.”
