See Female Rappers That Embrace Plastic Surgery

Cardi B

Cardi B’s relationship with plastic surgery has pretty much always been public. Over the last few years, and on her way to becoming a diamond-selling act, she’s revealed in a number of ways that she’s had breast augmentations, liposuction and rhinoplasty surgery.

In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, after the birth of her daughter Kulture, Cardi affirmed, “I just got my boobs redone. I feel good, but then sometimes I feel like not, you know? [When] your skin is stretched out.”

That same year, she also hopped on IG live to address fans who speculated that Bardi had gotten some work done. In the process, she confirmed, “Y’all know I got lipo, but what I didn’t get was ab etching. I even had [six] packs before I gave birth y’all can go to Google and search.”

Related, Cardi has been pretty candid about her process of acquiring a larger butt as well. In late 2022, she revealed on Instagram Live that she got her butt injections removed after getting them for $800 in 2018. Cardi went on to warn against the procedure and encourage young women to wait until their grown woman weight hits before opting for surgery. “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like, ‘OMG, I don’t have enough fat to put in my ass,’ so you result to ass shots, don’t!”

Lastly, she was also convinced to get fillers in her nose in hopes to make it appear smaller not too long after that time. Following the release of “Wap” in 2020, she bit the bullet on a surgical procedure, explaining to Jason Lee in 2023, “So I did fillers on my nose right in 2019 and that s*** f***ed my nose up. My nose got longer, it got wider and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, what the fuck? I fucked up my nose.’ I have no choice but to actually do my nose. So in 2020, after ‘WAP,’ I got my nose done.”

Kash Doll

Kash Doll disclosed in a 2019 interview with DJ Vlad that she’s gotten some work done on her breasts. In 2015, she apparently tweeted “plastic surgery,” leading to Vlad asking her to clear the air on the time frame where she started getting work done.

“2015 I probably was thinking about it or something,” she responded. “I have got work done though, I’m not ashamed to say that, which is my boobs and whatever.” She concluded her statement by offering some raw rationale. “I bought titties ’cause I ain’t have none. And there was nothing I could do to have ’em so, say hello to the KDs.”

Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea’s public discourse on plastic surgery started back in 2015, when she confirmed to Seventeen that she had underwent surgery to reshape her nose and in the same breath, confirmed that she had work done on her boobs as well. “I’m not denying it,” she said at the time. “I don’t think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself, which is why I’ve spoken about the changes I’ve made, like with my breasts.”

In a 2023 appearance on Emily Ratajkowski’s High Low with EmRata podcast, Iggy spoke on the choice again and with the utmost confidence. “I liked my body before, she admitted. “I liked my face before. And I like it now. And I like myself. I never hated myself.”

Latto

This past spring, Latto revealed that she went under the knife and got “a little work done.” Speaking with her sister Brooklyn on Latto’s 777 radio show on Apple Music in April, the platinum-selling rapper opened up about her experience. “One thing about it, if you going to do it, do it right…I did it right,” she said. While Latto is clearly embracing the change, she also warned other women that getting surgery wouldn’t be the ultimate solve when it comes to insecurities and appeasing others.

“I’m a very much advocate for women in general. Surgery, natural, whatever. However you want to play it, just make sure that’s what you are comfortable with, but I just think surgery is so popular now,” she shared. “Don’t be so gullible for the social media traps and whatever, because you never going to be good enough for the outsider’s eye. You’re never going to win. So, just find peace within yourself. Whatever you want to do, do that.”

DreamDoll

DreamDoll has also been really honest when it comes to the plastic surgery she’s gotten done throughout the years. She even made a vlog to detail some of her experiences. In fact, her Life In Plastic 2 project from 2019 plays into her embracing cosmetic procedures.

In a 2020 digital cover story with Hello Beautiful, Dream opened up about it all. “Plastic surgery can be so taboo sometimes,” she explained. “I just wanted to put it all out there. I wanted to bring some normalcy to it because the stigma isn’t always good.”

Within the last few years, DreamDoll has also made headlines for reversing her procedures. In that same Hello Beautiful interview from 2020, she discussed what ultimately led her in that direction: “I had to really take a deep look at why I wanted the surgery and after I went through it, I had to learn to love and accept who I had become. I had some complications, which I have been very open about, so it really took a lot of self-love to push through.” Elsewhere, she explained more to Angela Yee on the The Lip Service podcast, suggesting her desire to be more organic: “I wanted a more natural body and I still do.”

Doja Cat

In March of this year, Doja Cat hopped on Twitter to reveal that she got liposuction and a breast reduction like she planned last November. She initially joked about her decision in a since-deleted tweet: “got my titties done and my clit bedazzled.” But once fans started inquiring about the surgeries, Doja kept it real about her experience. She explained that she was in recovery mode, noting, “got lipo so my thighs hurt a lot if I move too much” in another tweet.

When another nosey Twitter user suggested that lipo means getting fat transferred from one part of the body to another, Doja clapped back calmly by saying, “No it is not, dear. That is called a fat transfer. I did not get a fat transfer.” Elsewhere, she revealed through commenting to inquisitive fans that her breast size went down to a 32C.

Nicki Minaj

A lot of fans have previously speculated that Nicki Minaj got some work done on her body at some point during the last decade. While making an appearance on Joe Budden’s podcast in 2022, Nicki confirmed that she did get butt injections back in the day from a “random” person.

She spoke about the pressure she received early on in her career when it came to having a certain image. “[Lil] Wayne, he was always talking about big booties,” she shared. “I didn’t feel complete or good enough. This is what you’re supposed to look like in the rap culture, and I don’t look like that.”

Though injections don’t always mean surgery, Nicki also revealed this year that she got a breast reduction. In an Instagram post previewing Nicki’s new collaboration with Ice Spice, she commented under her own post, “New boobs who dis?” She had previously discussed contemplating the surgery in May of this year. In late June, Nicki spoke to JT of the City Girls about what size her breasts were before the reduction. “If tell you the size…Do you wanna hear the size that they were?” Nicki said. “Oh, triple E. So, trust me, boo boo. You didn’t have the kind I had because you would have been doing the same thing I did.”
