Selena Gomez and her little sister, Gracie, are sister goals!

Selena Gomez grew up as an only child, but—much like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air—her life got twisted upside down in 2013…and then again in 2014.

Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, and her second husband, Brian Teefey, gave birth to their daughter, Gracie Elliot Teefey, in June 2013 and then—almost exactly a year later in June 2014—Selena’s dad, Ricardo Gomez, and his wife, Sara, welcomed their daughter, Victoria. So now Selena has two adorable little sisters to dote on and we are living for all the cute pics/still reeling over the ones of Selena and Gracie twinning at the Frozen 2 premiere back in 2019, where they had a secret signal and everything.

Here’s what you need to know about Selena’s special bonds with 10-year-old Gracie and 9-year-old Victoria.

Gracie Elliot Teefey

Selena is super attached to Gracie, and we can see why. “She’s adorable,” Sel told E! News shortly after Gracie’s birth. “I’m obsessed with her and becoming a big sister. I know I’ve had the responsibility to be a role model for girls but when you have a little sister of your own, you kinda think, Okay, this is legit.”

More recently, Selena explained how Gracie brings out her maternal side. “I keep her very very protected. I mean, it’s instinctual.”

Makes sense—wouldn’t you be overprotective of this little angel?!

For some sister-sister bonding, Sel even took Gracie to the Frozen 2 premiere on November 7, 2019, and they wore the cutest matching dresses and sequin feather capes. It is truly the sweetest thing you’ll ever see:

In a December 11 interview that same year with BBC One, Selena recalled what she told Gracie before they stepped onto the red carpet together. She said, “If you get nervous, if you get overwhelmed, just pull my hand and I’ll take you off immediately.” Needless to say, Gracie was loving the spotlight and their matching outfits.

Sel also shared, “I said to her, ‘This is my favorite red carpet I have ever done.’ Because she’s never done any of that and we didn’t force her to do that. Everything we do…to keep her safe, but my sister’s become very dramatic now. She’s all about the dresses and the glitter.”

And if you want to have your heart melt some more, please enjoy this home video that Selena shared in 2017. She teaches Gracie the importance of being fearless and it’s so damn inspiring.

“I will forever let my sister know she is strong, bold, and beautiful,” Sel wrote in the caption of the video. “She will be raised to know her voice matters. She is going to understand the importance behind being a leader and inspire others by her truth.”

Selena’s mom, Mandy, suffered a miscarriage before welcoming Gracie and wrote a now-deleted Instagram post explaining that she named the baby Scarlett:

“Thank you to all the fans who honored our Scarlett yesterday. Dec. 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them….Fans, I want you to know you are family because I have a huge family and you are the only ones who remember! XO forever.”
Clearly, Selena learned the importance of family from her mom! Check out a few more photos of her and Gracie bonding up a storm and feel free to tear up. Unless you’re secretly reading this at work/school and your boss/teacher is side-eying you right now, in which case, KEEP IT TOGETHER, GUYS.

Victoria Gomez
Unlike Gracie, Selena’s little sister Victoria doesn’t have a huge presence on Sel’s Instagram, but she does have a super-big presence in her life! Sel actually spent part of her 2018 birthday with Victoria:

Honestly, Selena’s dad’s Instagram account is full of tons of sweet photos of the pair, so go ahead and scroll.

At this point, it should be clear that Selena is the best older sister in the world, and we’re all just catching up!
