Draymond Green has already been suspended for five games this season

THE Golden State Warriors will be without Draymond Green for the foreseeable future.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday evening by the NBA in a press release.

“Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations,” the release said.

“This outcome takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.”

It went on to add: “Green’s suspension will begin immediately. He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play.”

Green is also “expected to receive counseling” according to The Athletics’ Shams Charania.

As eluded to in the press release, this follows an incident during the Warriors’ 119-116 loss to the Suns on Tuesday.

Green was ejected from the game for seemingly striking Jusuf Nurkic in the face during the third quarter.

This marked Green’s third ejection of the season and the 20th of his career.

Only Rasheed Wallace has more career suspensions with 29.

And fans were seemingly far from surprised by the harsh penalty supposedly set to be handed down by the NBA.

One such fan tweeted: “Deserved tbh, bro needs to get a grip.”

A second responded: “Absolutely 1000% the right move.”

While another suggested this wasn’t harsh enough, saying: “Permanently please.”

Green was suspended for five games in November after putting Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert in a headlock during their 104-101 loss.

This marked Green’s fifth suspension since entering the NBA as a second-round pick out of Michigan State in 2012.
