Green doesn’t believe the Clippers will win a title with the current group of superstars.

Based on his experience of winning three championships, each with a different franchise, Danny Green is well-versed in the essential elements required for success. However, as he observed the star-studded LA Clippers squad grappling to stay above the .500 mark, the 36-year-old shared he believes this franchise isn’t compatible enough to win a title this season, even with James Harden on board.

“I don’t see it happening for this group,” Green said on Run It Back. “Maybe he (Harden) can end up after this year, but I feel like he is going to try to stick it out, make it work, with this group.”

Delving deeper into his perspective, Danny pointed out that Ty Lue’s team has a concise championship window. The sharpshooter stressed the necessity of making strategic additions to bolster their championship prowess, particularly in light of the persistent injury woes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George over the past few years.

Danny recognized ‘The Beard’ as a Top 50 NBA player, even if he didn’t win a championship. However, he made a distinct point that if the 10-time All-Star successfully leads a team to a title as its primary star, he’ll end all doubts of him being among the elite.

“He is arguably a Top 50 player right now, without the ring,” Green continued. “But I think if he gets the ring as one of the bus drivers, I think for sure he will be one of the Top 50 players of all time.”

The Clippers are improving their trajectory

Despite the Clips’ facing adversity with five consecutive losses after integrating Harden into the starting lineup, the players remained unfazed by the slow start. Recent results highlight the team’s resilience, winning seven of their last ten games, including their most recent one against the defending champions – Denver Nuggets. The ‘Big Four’ stepped up in dominating fashion, scoring 71 out of the team’s 111 points.

While doubts emerged over the Clippers’ effectiveness with a roster filled with future First Ballot Hall of Famers, specific tweaks to the starting lineup and willingness to make sacrifices have transformed this team into a potential powerhouse.
