The Golden State Warriors game against the OKC Thunder on Friday sent social media into an uproar.

THE NBA tipped off its first-ever in-season tournament on Friday, and fans were left with conspiracy theories about a Stephen Curry game-winning shot.

NBA fans flooded social media with questions and reactions to the officiating after a controversial call led the Golden State Warriors to a 141-139 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Late in the 4th quarter in a tied 139-139 ballgame, Curry’s made layup was waved off by the refs after teammate Draymond Green appeared to illegally touch the rim before the ball went in and was called for goaltending.

However, after review, the call was overturned, and the Warriors were given the two-point lead with 00.2 left on the game clock.

The Thunder did not have enough remaining time to get a shot off and lost the game, prompting NBA Twitter to go crazy.

NBA fans rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the question on the call, with many claiming the refs “bailed out” the Warriors.

One said: “Clear bail out by refs.”

Another: “Bailed out by the refs, sheesh. OKC vs Refs, smh.”

A third expressed: “The NBA can’t let their golden boy Steph Curry lose.”

And a fourth stated: “Well, we all know that’s goaltending, but to get the Warriors a loss to OKC in a tourney isn’t going to happen.”

While some fans felt the call was correct and felt Thunder guard Josh Giddy grabbed the net and praised Curry for making the clutch shot.

This fan said: “Giddy pulled the net before Draymond hit the rim. Goal tend. Basket counts.

Another: “What a nail-biter! But thanks to the review, justice was served! Giddey absolutely grabs the net first before the ball goes in.”

And a third: “The ref gave the wrong explanation. He should have said that Giddey pulled the net first, and Green’s touch of the rim was marginal and didn’t affect the ball going in.”

Curry finished the game with 30 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists and will hope to keep the strong play going into the Warrior’s next tournament game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 14.
